Required Math and Calculator Skills

A proficiency in basic math skills and calculator operations is essential in 9th grade science. No matter what level of math you are in, you are expected to master the following sections:

A. Take the Texas A & M Basic Math Skills tutorial:

     All classes: (Regular and Honors):    1. Scientific Notation Tutorial

                                                                    2. Manipulation of Exponents

                                                                    3. Basic algebraic operations  

                                                                    4. Dimensional (unit) analysis

                                                                   5. Significant Figures

     Honors Classes ONLY:   1. Logarithms  and   Quadratic Equations                                                                                                                        

B. Survey the MATH AND CALCULATOR SKILLS site list for appropriate tutorials in Excel, TI  calculators, Graphical Analysis Programs, etc.
